PocketBook has updated its line of e-readers yet again this year with the release of PocketBook InkPad Color 3, which features the latest E Ink Kaleido 3 screen and a fresh finish PocketBook calls "Stormy Sea"!
This comes as a surprise to many seeing as PocketBook InkPad Color 2 was released just a few months ago bundled with a much improved E Ink Kaleido 2 display, a design refresh, and upgraded internals. It's quite unconventional for companies to replace a device in their line-up so quickly, especially one that is significantly better than its predecessor in many regards.
It turns out that this decision was made due to supply chain issues, where there were difficulties with the production and delivery of the E Ink Kaleido 2 panels on the part of the screen manufacturer themselves.
The display on PocketBook InkPad Color 3 is supposedly significantly better than on the InkPad Color 2. Every other part of the device, apart from the screen, and the new Stormy Sea shell coating, remains unchanged as far as we're aware at this point. We can't wait to land our hands on it, seeing as the difference was significant enough to warrant a product name update.
